Compacted Vermicular Cast Iron (GJV) for the Audi V6 Diesel Engine
GGV, CGI, GJV or JV – the designation doesn't really matter – the material and its production have come a long way to successful completion: GJV has entered volume production with the crankcase for a car diesel engine. Eisenwerk Brühl GmbH have successfully transferred their technology to the volume production of GJV and are as of now the only volume supplier of V6 crankcases made of GJV for Audi AG.

Laser-based Measurements for Validation of Numerical Simulations
To achieve more efficient combustion and a reduction in emissions from modern gasoline engines, a deeper understanding of internal engine processes is necessary. Therefore at the TU Darmstadt the...
Energy-based Solid Friction Model for Combustion Engines
New tightened boundary conditions like the real driving emissions emphasises the importance of life time prediction and the implied wear of components. In this context the APL Group is developing...
Holistic Control Strategy for Adjustable Cooling Components
MAN improves the performance and therefore reduces the engine fuel consumption with adjustable coolant components, which are included in a coolant system. Lower fan speed increases the driving...
